I usually don’t set a specific time limit for studio sessions. If we are doing multiple outfit changes with different hair and makeup the session usually last around four hours. I try not to rush anything because sometimes my hair and makeup artists require extra time and I always want to ensure that lighting and posing is appropriate for the theme of the shoot.
How long do sessions typically take?
This largely depends on the theme or overall mood of your shoot. However, part of the session fee includes wardrobe consultation and the ability to look through what I have in my client closet. I usually advise clients to avoid baggy or loose clothing or clothing with busy or distracting patterns. Once we decide on the overall mood of the shoot we can discuss a color palette, accessories, and other styling.
What should I wear?
How long does it take to get edited images?
I don’t do any batch editing or use presets so I am typically editing each image manually in Lightroom and Photoshop. I want to achieve a certain high level of polish so overall editing and retouching can take several hours for each image. My goal for clients is to return all images within 3-4 weeks. However, I usually will give clients access to photos as I edit them instead of waiting to provide all of them at once.
